Amir believes that the financial industry is a central pillar in addressing the most pressing social and environmental issues. Amir wants to help the industry to navigate this long and complex road of integrating economic value with social and environmental performance.
A mechanical engineer by training, Amir brings 5 years of professional experience in the areas of carbon accounting and mitigation, energy efficiency, cleantech development, and climate strategy. In addition, Amir holds a PhD in Management from the Desautels Faculty of Management (McGill University), with a focus on understanding the links between climate-related strategies and firm performance.

Prior to joining Millani, Amir has supported public and private organizations of all sizes as a consultant with ICF International and the Carbon Consult Group. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including the implementation of energy efficiency programs, carbon offset measurement and verification, the development of energy and climate policy for various governments, and the development of low carbon fuel refineries.
Amir leverages his background in engineering and sustainability to support organizations seeking to create value through sustainable practices, processes, and products. Amir has also co-founded a non-profit, Climatable, focused on training and providing resources to entrepreneurs for building start-ups around climate solutions. During his time at McGill, Amir was awarded the Emerald Key Award for sustainability leadership for his work in convincing the university administration to commit to carbon neutrality by 2040.
Amir has a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from City University of New York, a MASc from Queen's University, and a PhD in Management from McGill University.
